Registered Nurse, PhD Student, and Knowledge Translation Specialist

Steven Hall, RN, MN, CMSN(C)

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my space online. I am a registered nurse, PhD student, and experienced Knowledge Translation Specialist based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am currently available for research collaboration and knowledge translation support. After browsing my portfolio, feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!

Research Experience

I am a master's-prepared registered nurse, currently pursuing a PhD in Medicine (Division of Geriatric Medicine) through the University of Alberta and a 2025 Government of Canada Vanier Scholar. I am also a collaborating member of the Egas Moniz Centre for Interdiciplinary Research (CiiEM) in Portugal.

I have been involved in research since 2019. My research program in gerontology has a focus on older adults and their family/friend caregivers. I am experienced in systematic and scoping review methodology, qualitative and mixed methods, patient-oriented research, participatory methods, and community action research.

Clinical / Teaching Experience

My clinical background is in general medicine. I am certified by the Canadian Nurses Association in medical-surgical nursing [CMSN(C)]. I am also a lecturer in the undergraduate nursing program at the University of Alberta. I teach courses in pathophysiology, pharmacology, and nursing foundations.

My next course to teach will be NURS 416 in the Winter 2027 term. Students can expect to hear from me around December 2026 for updates on this. Previous teaching experience is listed under my Curriculum Vitae tab above.
